Student Eligibility
This document includes a description and decision-making process of student eligibility for the Massachusetts Inclusive Postsecondary Education (MAIPSE) initiative.
Schools partner with institutions of higher education to provide an age-appropriate college-based transition services for their students. School personnel work with their students and program coordinators at the college level to develop a person-centered plan. They also provide academic supports and transportation training for students, while they are on the college campus.
Adult serving agencies also partner with institutions of higher education to provide supports for adults with intellectual disability, severe autism and severe developmental disabilities who have exited the school system. They work in partnership with their client and college program coordinator to develop a person-centered plan that meets their clients’ needs and preferences.
